Take the APNIC Survey 2012 to contribute to the planning and future direction of APNIC. There are only a few days left!

The Survey is conducted independently by the Singapore Internet Research Centre (SIRC) to ensure the privacy of Survey respondents. We encourage all Apster readers to participate.

NRO NC elections

Nominations for the Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) elections are now open until Monday, 30 July at 17:30 (UTC +10). The NRO NC elections will be held during APNIC 34 in Phnom Penh.

prop-102 accepted by the APNIC EC

prop-102: Sparse allocation guidelines for IPv6 resource allocation has completed the final phase of the APNIC Policy Development Process.

APNIC will work with community members to create this document, which will be released for a one-month comment period.

ICANN ratifies global policy

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers Board (ICANN) has announced the formal ratification of the Global Policy Proposal for Post Exhaustion IPv4 Allocation Mechanisms by the IANA.

ICANN staff will take the necessary steps towards implementing the proposal.

National IPv6 Event, Viet Nam

The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Viet Nam National IPv6 Task Force is hosting a national IPv6 event in Hanoi from 31 May to 1 June. VNNIC, Viet Nam's National Internet Registry (NIR), is the Standing Committee of the National IPv6 Task Force.

Director General Paul Wilson, Learning and Development Director Philip Smith, and Senior IPv6 Program Specialist Miwa Fujii will attend and present the current regional status of IPv6 deployment.
