Searching the Whois database
The APNIC Whois Database is a publicly searchable database that provides information about the Internet resources distributed within the Asia-Pacific region.
The following are a list of ‘Search terms’ accepted by the Whois search tool:
- Object name – usually the details provided in the first attribute
- nic-hdl – used to search a ‘person’ or ‘role’ object
- netname – can also be used when searching a inetnum or inet6num object
NOTE: When doing a search on a resource-associated object, ‘person’ and ‘role’ objects referenced by the inetnum, inet6num or aut-num, will also be returned.
Advanced search
The web-based search tool also allows you to find objects using more specific query options.
If you enter a search term in the query box of the web-based whois search, all object types and lookup keys are searched for.
