April in Noumea

The first Pacific IGF, supported by APNIC, was held in Noumea, New Caledonia concurrently with APTLD and PITA meetings. More than 70 participants from several Pacific Island nations attended.

APNIC and the Secretariat for the Pacific Community (SPC) entered a MoU, which will be available shortly.

Survey Report
APNIC EC to Respond

The comment period for the 2011 Member and Stakeholder Survey Report findings has ended.

Thanks to Prof. Ang Peng Hwa and SIRC for conducting the 2011 Survey.

The APNIC EC will give a formal response shortly.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey and provided feedback on the findings.

CSTD Statement

Samantha Dickinson, APNIC's Internet Governance Specialist, recently attended the UN's Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) meetings in Geneva.

In addition to contributing to discussions, Samantha was one of five signatories for a formal statement on behalf of the technical community regarding the future of the IGF.

On 15 April 2011, the APNIC IPv4 pool reached its last /8 of address space, bringing us to Stage 3 of IPv4 Exhaustion in the Asia Pacific.
