What we do
APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, pronounced A-P-NIC) is an open, independent, not-for-profit membership organization that underpins the infrastructure and growth of the Internet in the Asia Pacific.
As the RIR (Regional Internet Registry) for the Asia Pacific, APNIC distributes and manage Internet number resources (IP addresses and AS numbers) within the Asia Pacific region’s 56 economies, according to policies developed by the community.
APNIC plays a critical role in helping develop the regional Internet community and infrastructure in a sustainable way, including essential skills for best-practice Internet operations.
It engages and cooperates with network operators, industry groups, governments and other technical organizations as part of the multistakeholder model of Internet governance.
APNIC’s activities are supported by robust governance structures and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability to its Members.
APNIC performs these activities as part of its commitment to a global, open, stable and secure Internet.
